Simply put, Rising Stars works. Rising Stars formula is learning plus athletics, with the greater additive being learning. This basic, but powerful equation ensures every child that is a part of the Rising Stars community is successful as they progress through life. Making a difference in the life of a child means a great deal to me. My continued support and participation with Rising Stars allows me that and more.

Full Court Assist Leadership Program

After parents, peers have the greatest influence on pre-teens and teens’ lives. Rising Stars pairs older student-athletes with younger student-athletes for mentorship. This is a peer-driven effort, where kids encourage and guide each other through the building blocks of success. Mentorship, character building, and goal setting are accomplished through this program.

Rising Stars Scholars Program has taught me that I can be an inspiration and a leader amongst my peers. My Rising Stars team is my family, we encourage one another but we are also competitive. One area that I have really improved in is my attendance in school. I used to be late all the time but now I am on time. Life as a student athlete is a tough balance but my monthly educational meetings with Rising Stars and the check-up texts and phone calls during the week help support me.

Community Outreach Program

Rising Stars builds stronger relationships for Long Island and NYC’s most at-risk children by partnering with families, schools, and communities. The teams of our Community Outreach Program play for free. All student-athletes in the program attend a free mandatory tutoring session once a week. Report cards are monitored, goals defined, and individual plans devised.

Additionally, some of our Community Outreach Program participants receive free, yearly YMCA memberships and access to all Y activities.

Our Partners

Rising Stars model has been utilized throughout the country by many national youth organizations to reach children and enroll them in yearly programs that can make a difference in their lives and impact the community. We are proud of the many relationships we have developed over the years that help us with our mission and allow us to be a part of what they do.
