The Toy Giveaway event hosted on December 17, 2022 was a huge success for the Hempstead Community. Hempstead Alumni, Alfred Jennings (Mortgage Broker/Developer) organized this Toy Giveaway with his former educator and Mentor, Hank Williams (Rising Stars Coach) to distribute over 500 toys to the Hempstead Community. The event was held at Honda Millenium of Hempstead through the ongoing support of their General Manager, Ravel Mejia. Roosevelt Field ChicK-fil-A Owner, Joe Hawkins, also participated by providing 400 Chick-fil-A sandwiches to the families who attended. This event ran timely and smoothly thanks to the support of the volunteer scholars of Rising Stars. The scholars helped to organize the lines of families, give out the toys, and the chick-fil-A sandwiches. It was awesome to see our young scholars put smiles on the faces of the children during this season of giving. This is an annual event that we hope to continue with the support of the Rising Stars Youth Foundation.
