Fall K-12 Basketball Programs

Register with Rising Stars for top-notch basketball training and teams

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sept. 11, 2020: Get ready to shoot hoops this fall. The Rising Stars Youth Foundation—the leading program that builds character, promotes education, and reinforces important values—announced its fall basketball training and team programs. Registration is ongoing.

“Every program is led by highly qualified coaches who have excelled at basketball and are deeply committed to each child’s skill and character development,” said Dan Gimpel, Executive Director of the Rising Stars Youth Foundation. “Our basketball programs from kindergarten to 12th grade teach children as much about fun as they do about hard work, dedication, and teamwork.”

Gimpel added, “The Rising Stars Youth Foundation looks forward to continuing with our fall program while adhering to all COVID-19 safety requirements. Our participants will enjoy their love for basketball in an environment following all safety protocols.”

Registration is completed using the Rising Stars Youth Foundation app, which is available for download through the Apple App Store or Google Play by searching “Rising Stars Youth Foundation.”

Rising Stars announced the following fall programs and schedules.

LITTLE STARS (GRADES K-2)

  • Little Stars: Wednesdays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 16. The cost is $40 per session or a discounted rate of $175 for five sessions per player. The program is held at Mitchel Gym, 9 West Road, Garden City, NY.

BOYS ELEMENTARY TO MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 3-8)

Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School (LuHi), 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY

  • Grades 3-8: Mondays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 21. This program will be held on the outdoor courts and features skills, drills and games. The cost is $395 per player.

Mitchel Gym, 9 West Road, Garden City, NY

  • Grades 3-5: Saturdays, 10:00-11:15 a.m., beginning Sept. 12. The cost is $40 per session or a discounted rate of $175 for five sessions per player.
  • Grades 6-8: Saturdays, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., beginning Sept. 12. The cost is $40 per session or a discounted rate of $175 for five sessions per player.

GIRLS ELEMENTARY TO MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 4-8)

Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School (LuHi), 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY

  • Grades: 4-8: Tuesdays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 22. This program will be held on the outdoor courts and features skills, drills and games. The cost is $395 per player.

Mitchel Gym, 9 West Road, Garden City, NY

Grades 4-6: Saturdays, 1:00-2:15 p.m., beginning Sept. 12. The cost is $40 per session or a discounted rate of $175 for five sessions per player.

  • Grades 7-8: Saturdays, 2:30-3:45 p.m., beginning Sept. 12. The cost is $40 per session or a discounted rate of $175 for five sessions per player.

BOYS HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-12)

  • Outdoor Training Package: This 6-week program features skills, drills and games. Training occurs Wednesdays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 23. The cost is $395 per player. The program is held on the outdoor courts at Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School (LuHi), 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY.

 

  • Fall Team Package: This comprehensive 6-week program features four practices, outdoor and indoor training with competition. Outdoor trainings begin Wednesday, Sept. 23, 5:00-6:30 p.m. at LuHi, 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY. The indoor trainings begin Sunday, Sept. 20, 4:00-5:15 p.m. at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, 336 Woodmere Blvd., Woodmere, NY.

GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-12)

  • Outdoor Training Package: This 6-week program features skills, drills and competition. Training occurs Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 24. The cost is $395 per player. The program is held on the outdoor courts at Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School (LuHi), 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY.
  • Fall Team Package: This comprehensive 6-week program features four practices, outdoor and indoor training, scrimmages, and games. Outdoor trainings begin Thursday, Sept. 24, 5:00-6:30 p.m. at LuHi, 131 Brookville Road, Brookville, NY. The indoor trainings begin Sunday, Sept. 20, 530-6:45 p.m. at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, 336 Woodmere Blvd., Woodmere, NY.
